Berman Andrés Rivera Pichardo, 34, was shot in the chest Monday afternoon when two criminals broke into his cell phone sales store and attacked him.
The criminals rode motorcycles to the Mart Cell store in the Costa Rican neighborhood of Managua’s Fourth District, located at the Colonial traffic light 2 blocks from the lake.
Upon arriving at the location, one of the subjects posing as a customer entered the store while his buddy was waiting for him on a motorcycle.
Once inside, the criminals approached Berman and snatched a large gold chain from him and took several cell phones from the counter. At this point, the victim tried to respond and the other suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire.
Berman was immediately wounded, and the criminal escaped.
Neighbors immediately helped the injured man and transferred him to the Manolo Morales Peralta Hospital, where he underwent surgery, while officers from the Fourth Police Station thoroughly investigated the case with the support of the company’s security camera videos.
