His Majesty the King of Bhutan, His Majesty the Fourth King of Bhutan and His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Bhutan in August and inaugurated the newly built Changyu Park in Changtsan Tok, Thimphu.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, senior government officials and security forces who have been involved in the construction of the park for two years.

Afterwards, interested people came to the park and enjoyed training performances by famous Bhutanese dancers and security personnel, as well as a concert.
More than 1,000 people gathered in the park on the first day.

The park is built on about 7 acres of land along the Wangchuck River and His Majesty the King presented the book as a gift to the residents and visitors of Thimphu.
The park will be constructed at a cost of Rs 150 million and will be carried out over a period of 18 months by 300 security personnel.

“This park is not like an ordinary park,” said Trashi Paljor, director of the real estate department, adding that it has Bhutanese characteristics, culture, architecture and town symbols.

He said it was good for the people to take responsibility for cleanliness and good management and that the Thimphu Municipal Corporation and the Outdoor Recreation Department were expected to build several parks.

Park visitor Sonam Dekyi said the truck stop was beautifully decorated and that His Majesty had written a letter to our children and people, “It was a big piece of cloth”.
If urban areas had such parks, they would be used for recreation and cultural activities, “which is a good idea and it would attract tourists,” he said.

The park’s designers combined traditional structures with modern green infrastructure. The green park’s traditional architecture: stone walls, riverbanks and traditional gates. The goat design is modern, beautiful, environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive.
The main features of the green park are grassland and riverside exhibits, a community center, the riverfront and some auxiliary facilities.

The north side of the park is used for mazes, activities and outdoor activities, everything is installed so you can relax and enjoy the river views from the riverside exhibits.
The central section of the park features a cafeteria and underground outdoor recreation areas, as well as a community center that includes space for community gatherings and events.

Outdoor recreation includes a nature playground with swings for children, a rope bridge and fitness facilities for adults.

The riverside facilities include a swing bridge with panoramic views of the river and a standing bar methodically built into the woodland, which is a delightful sight for those who visit it and feels like it happened.
The park adopts a sustainable approach, using energy-efficient natural stone and synthetic hand-crafted stone, which are suspended on fabricated columns.
There is also a 10 km long ice rink, walkways and bridges.

The green park is part of the Thimphu Infrastructure Plan 2023-24 Green Base and Outdoor Land Plan and has been allocated.
The park was built by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, His Majesty the King’s Secretariat and the National Town Hall, while the Community Development Council Security Office was built by the Thimphu Town.

Design and urban planning for local residents, tourists and visitors130 ground officers, engineering officers and staff converted the previously vacant space into a green space.

Changyu Park will help improve the lives of Thimphu residents and the capital will become a model of green activities in the future. It is His Majesty’s wish to build this temple.
