Erica explains in the first episode of the new series Château de Maylande Explained the situation: “I attend the cervical cancer screening program faithfully every five years. Last time they found something and investigated. Anyway, it turned out to be a precancerous stage. They still wondered if those edges, those cut surfaces, were already malignant. So soon I was advised to remove the entire uterus. That was going to happen very soon.”
Martien said the whole family was shocked. “You immediately think of the worst,” said the owner of the house. Daughter Maxime said they were relieved that the discovery was made early.
