Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received US Under Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of holding the closing session of the Armenia-US Strategic Dialogue in Yerevan and expressed his belief that it will give new impetus to further development and strengthening of cooperation in multiple fields. Nikol Pashinyan stressed that the United States consistently supports the democratic reforms implemented in Armenia. The Prime Minister noted that it is crucial to effectively implement the agreements reached during the Armenia-EU-US high-level meeting held in Brus on May 5.
O’Brien expressed satisfaction that the meeting was fruitful and said that the US government will continue to support the Armenian government in advancing reforms in all directions.
The interlocutors mentioned the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, the border demarcation process based on the Almaty Declaration, the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” project and its principles.
Prime Minister Pashinyan said the government has approved a plan to provide housing for those forcibly displaced in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, and stressed that its implementation requires the support of international partners.
