Next month, the 17th Qala International Folklore Festival will return to the heart of the village, hosted by Qala Local Council and the Qala Menhir Folk Group, in partnership with Gozo’s Cultural Heritage Authority.
The festival lasts for three days, from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th September, and is one of the most popular festivals on Gozo’s cultural calendar.
The Kara Village Square will be transformed into a folklore centre, where visitors can learn about the island’s cultural history through music, dance, traditional food, colourful costumes and workshops.
The festival’s cross-cultural program continues to grow, attracting locals and visitors who enjoy this different and enjoyable show.
This year, the festival will feature groups such as Menhir Qala Folk Group, Ogygia Folk Group, Ta’ Verna Folk Band, Calypso Grupp, Slovenian Borievka, Serbian Kud Dukat Folk Group, The Turning Point, Kevin Borg & Band and Joy Givers.
