The regional department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a fire broke out on Gubkin Street, covering an area of 1,000 square meters. According to meduza.io, rescuers received the signal at 14:45 local time.
The press service of the Omsk Refinery said that the fire had broken out in the company’s technical equipment. “Automatic fire-fighting equipment was activated and the fire department quickly located the fire. The company is operating normally,” the plant said. “The fire has been brought under control,” they added.
Telegram channel Baza wrote that the AVT-11 unit, designed to separate oil into fractions and carry out subsequent processing, exploded at the plant.
Telegram channel “112” reported that two refinery employees were injured and burned in the explosion. The company’s press office confirmed this to RBC.
