Denmark coach takes sick leave: – Very sad
Denmark national football team head coach Morten Vighorst is on sick leave due to “mild stress symptoms” and will miss two upcoming international matches.
This was stated by the Danish Football Association (DBU) on its official website. website. Assistant coach Lars Knudsen takes over management of the team alongside newly hired Daniel Agger for the upcoming two Nations League games against Switzerland and Serbia.
– It is very sad that Morten will miss the upcoming national league due to illness. Unfortunately, stress affects too many Danes, so we take this very seriously,” said director of football Peter Møller.
Weghorst will serve as interim head coach until 2024. Kasper Hjulmand left after the European Championship in Germany this summer.
Knutson, 47, had been working as a set-piece coach for the Denmark national team but was given a more prominent role following Hulmand’s resignation.
