The Metema regional government announced that two Ethiopians, including a Sudanese refugee, were shot dead by gunmen in the western Gondar region last week.
Regional Administrator Ato Desalen Moges told VOA the homicide took place on a small public transport truck that was traveling from Gende Water, the capital of the West Gondar district, to Merchant Bay.
The Ethiopian Refugee and Returnee Services Center confirmed the murder.
