Dear Ugandans,
The news you watch, read or listen to these days is filled with bad things, with corruption and human rights violations dominating the headlines lately. I implore you to take a few minutes to pay attention and tell you what you should be most worried about at this moment, because if you are not an unwitting victim now, then in the near future you may become a real victim, or someone close to you may be affected.
In 2020, when the country was locked down to control the coronavirus pandemic, I proposed using a prototype that I had rapidly developed in my lab to defend the nation. At the time, there was no vaccine for the pandemic, and medical professionals had to repurpose drugs that had already been approved to treat COVID-19 patients.
Since it was known at the time that there was no cure for the epidemic, and to this day no one claims to have a cure for the epidemic, I tried to contact the Ministry of Health with my prototype, which resulted in me being jailed for 84 hours.
To be honest, what I did was wrong and I apologize for it. I thank each and every one of you who, despite not knowing me and not even being a scientist, advocated for my release and expressed a desire to test my prototype; most importantly, I thank His Excellency the President for issuing the directive for my unconditional release.
Over time, several pharmaceutical companies have approved COVID-19 vaccines, and a significant portion of the Ugandan population has been vaccinated. Earlier this year, I heard an announcement on a local radio station from the Ministry of Health calling for booster doses, which I thought showed that they care about their people.
However, I have been reading some of the scientific literature on the effectiveness of these vaccines, and the conclusions are not good, which is why I implore you to pay close attention.
Reports that vaccinated people are more susceptible to disease made me think about the vulnerability of HIV-positive people.
Additionally, due to the presence of mRNA vaccines, cancer incidence has increased, and patients undergoing cancer treatment have experienced treatment failure and disease progression in a very short period of time.
If these findings are generalized and applied to the Ugandan situation, then there is very strong reason to be concerned. This is not alarmist, do a simple web search and you will be able to verify what I have said in this article.
The scary thing is that our healthcare system is not able to handle these cases effectively, causing many people to fly abroad for better treatment; the worst part is that most of those who fly abroad for better treatment either die or die soon after returning home, meaning that no matter where they go, cancer is not curable. Many of you can attest to this.
Of course, the media only reports the deaths of those at the top of society, while those at the bottom die every day and only their families notice.
In addition, going abroad for treatment requires great financial resources and few people can afford it, but because of our sympathy for the affected people, I have seen some activities aimed at raising funds to support the poor, which is a good thing, although not everyone has a rich social network to get such support.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the soldiers who are wearing branded vests and participating in marathons to raise awareness and funds for the management of this health problem, your strategy is great! As for me, I am shooting on the front lines, in the lab.
The good news is that my lab has developed prototypes that could serve as candidate therapies for HIV and cancer. On August 23, 2021, I met with the National Medical Products Administration about these prototypes, and they were very welcoming of the idea of conducting clinical trials.
In fact, I heard that as of that time, the NDA had not yet conducted clinical trials on any Ugandan-made products, so these prototypes would be pioneers.
However, I also received a list of demands that required a significant financial investment that, as an individual, I could not and still cannot afford.
So I thank you for making history together and bringing hope to people living with HIV and cancer. We welcome your support, whether as an individual or a corporate entity; whether it is an equity investment in my biotechnology or a donation, your funds are greatly needed.
The funds needed to get these prototypes ready for the next step are just a pittance for some of you. If I knew you I would contact you directly, but since I don’t know who you are or where to find you I decided to make my request public.
