In his statement, Abu Obeida stressed that Hezbollah’s actions indicate a significant shift in Israel’s strategic landscape since the Al-Aqsa flood.
Abu Obeida, a military spokesman for Hamas’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades, expressed support for Hezbollah’s initial response to the assassination of commander Fuad Shukr and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Lebanese people.
“We congratulate our Hezbollah brothers for their initial response following the assassination of Commander Fuad Shoukr, and we also appreciate the great sacrifices of the Lebanese people and heroic resistance fighters,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
Abu Obeida stressed in his statement that Hezbollah’s actions show that Israel’s strategic landscape has changed significantly since the Al-Aqsa flood. “The enemy cannot escape retaliation, and the possibilities of striking the enemy from anywhere and on any front are unlimited.”
He warned that as long as the aggression against the Palestinian people persists, the blows against the enemy will continue to intensify on all fronts.
“As long as our people and our country continue to suffer aggression, the attacks on the enemy on all fronts will continue to escalate,” he said.
Abu Obeida’s comments came after Hezbollah launched a massive attack on Israel earlier in the day, a move the group described as an initial response to the assassination of its senior leader Fuad Shoukr in a southern suburb of Beirut last month.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, the Qassam Brigades set up an ambush in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City and sniped an Israeli soldier near the University College in the southern Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood of southern Gaza City.
Here are the latest statements from Gaza’s two main resistance forces and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
These statements were communicated via their Telegram channel and are published here in their original form.

“We bombarded the Abu Mutibaq military base east of Magazi camp with multiple mortar shells.”
Hezbollah
“On the Arab Day of Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon them), the mentor of the martyrs, the leader of freedom, the symbol of sacrifice, altruism and defiance, at dawn on Sunday, August 25, 2024, as a preliminary response to the brutal Zionist aggression in the southern suburbs of Beirut (Dahiye), which led to the martyrdom of the great jihad commander Sayyid Fuad Shukr (may Allah have mercy on him) and some of our dear civilians, including women and children, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance launched air strikes using a large number of drones, deep into the Zionist entity, targeting qualitative Israeli military targets, which will be announced later.
