Despite its Berber origins, the Jubba is now a traditional Tunisian dress. It has been influenced by several civilizations in Tunisia, which has caused it to change in embroidery, fabrics and colors until Tunisians adopted it as their daily and official dress.

The Jubba is a loose-fitting outer garment that covers the entire body except the arms and legs. It is similar to the tunic worn in other Arab countries, but has an embroidered opening at the neck and two openings at the neck. It is made of wool or silk and is usually worn by men on special occasions and festivals.

The Tunisian robe is similar to the traditional clothing of some other Arab countries, but it has its own characteristics as it is characterized by unique symbols and drawings hand-embroidered on the chest of the robe, which is a custom for Tunisian men to wear this dress on their wedding night or wedding day.

One of the most famous ones is the “Silk Robe”, made of virgin natural Tunisian silk, designed for official occasions, celebrations and festivals, some of which cost more than three thousand dollars because they are hand-embroidered by the most skilled craftsmen, some of which take three months to sew and embroider.

As for the “Al-Muqardash” robe, its fabric is made of silk and wool, woven in alternating and continuous ribs on traditional handlooms, better known in Tozeur in southern Tunisia.

In the cold winter, Tunisians wear “Maarif” robes, which are made of pure wool imported from Eastern Europe and Europe, especially the United Kingdom, and dyed in various colors such as green, blue, and gray.

As for the “Qamaraya” robe, it is the most famous, usually made of a type of linen imported from England, and worn for celebrations, occasions and family evenings, but also in non-white, such as the jeweled robe. and gray, which is everyday wear in the summer.
