Dynamos Football Club qualified for the first round of the CAF Confederations Cup after defeating Zambia’s ZESCO United in the preliminary round.
The Glamour Boys won the match 1-0 on aggregate thanks to Tanaka Shandirwa’s decisive goal in the first leg in Botswana.
Dynamo relied on tight defence to hold on to their lead in the second leg which ended in a 0-0 draw in Ndola, Zambia, on Saturday.
Although ZESCO had the upper hand early on and launched several attacks, the visitors were able to thwart their threats. Dynamos’ first chance to score came in the 27th minute, but Temptation Chiwunga’s shot went wide.
In the second half, Dynamo adopted a more proactive style of play, creating space and absorbing pressure.
The match ended in a draw, with Dynamos advancing to the next stage.
They will face the winner of the match between Orapa United (Botswana) and Forest FC (Seychelles) in the first round.
