The Israeli army announced that an alarm was sounded in Rishon LeZion, south of Tel Aviv in central Israel.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Hamas fired a rocket into central Israel from the town of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to the IDF, the rocket hit an open area near Rishon Le Zion and there were no immediate reports of casualties.
