Santo Domingo.- Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Telecommunications Association (INDOTEL), Guido Gomez Mazara, Revealed, only 25% of police units The country Internet access. One of its priorities will be to work to ensure that all police forces Network access.

Gomez Mazara pointed out that one of the themes of the Dominican government’s policy is insecurity, which is exacerbated by the lack of information exchange between the various police units through the network. INDOTEL will focus on the 100% connection of police facilities to contribute to the reduction of crime in the country.

“If a person commits a crime and registers with the José Martí Street detachment, they receive you with a notebook and a pencil, but if three days ago the same person was involved in a fight in the Villa Duarte neighborhood, there is no system to connect that information. One of the responsibilities of INDOTEL is to guarantee the connectivity of the country’s detachments,” he said.

In this sense, the officer will also responsibly work to reduce the digital divide and create conditions for the Internet to reach the most remote parts of the country. This will allow communities to access information on the web to develop their technical and educational capacities.

“INDOTEL will play the role of bringing technology closer to citizens, letting them know that there are technological solutions to their basic problems. INDOTEL has a Telecommunication Development Fund designed to achieve this goal, and we will work with the Inter-American Technological Institute (ITLA) to achieve this goal.”

Gómez Mazara also regretted that official texts such as the Constitution of the Republic contain grammatical problems and spelling errors, so the institution he heads will work to correct these documents through basic applications.

“It is a very bad thing for any institution to draw up a document and you receive it full of spelling errors. INDOTEL will overcome this by using the application,” Gómez Mazara said on the TV show McKinneyairs every Saturday night at 11:00 pm on Color Visión.

He said that during these first two years, his only attitude was to bring a certain degree of transparency and efficiency to INDOTEL and to return to the people the spirit of public service, acceptance and tolerance that is the condition of being a civil servant. Criticism.
