Dubai eSports Initiative aims to create 30,000 jobs

Dubai Chamber, in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, organised a seminar dedicated to the video games industry to discuss the opportunities and prospects for the development of the industry in Dubai. The seminar focused on the mechanisms to achieve the goals of the “Dubai Video Games Plan 2033”, which is overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation and aims to make Dubai one of the top ten video games hubs in the world, providing up to 30,000 new jobs and contributing to the emirate’s GDP of approximately $1 billion by 2033.

The seminar attracted active participation from partners and stakeholders from various components of various business systems in the video game industry, including companies and devices in the game development, sales and marketing operations, artificial intelligence technology, and equipment fields.

Maha Al Gergawi, Vice President of Business Community Interest Support Sector at Dubai Chamber, said: “The Dubai Video Games Plan 2033 contributes to achieving a qualitative transformation of the industry in Dubai, developing its global competitiveness and strengthening the Emirate of Dubai as a leader in the video games market. It will be an attractive destination for companies, entrepreneurs and experts of all specialties in the industry,” pointing out that joining the ‘Gaming and Esports Services Working Group’ under Dubai Chamber provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of the sector at the local level.
