Volunteers helped facilitate the University of Calgary’s long-awaited Orientation Day, with everyone having a part to play.

Brodi Hoilund of Fort McMurray, Alberta, was preparing to begin his higher education journey in medical school.

He is one of a record 1,267 first-year students to accept guaranteed housing at the University of Calgary this year. More than 1,700 returning students are set to arrive next week.
