The Ministry of Equipment, responsible for air, land and sea transport, notified users of Tahiti’s public transport network of the cancellation of line 22 “Papara-Taravao” and the reinforcement of line 30 “Taravao-Papeete” from 2017. 26 August 2024.
An analysis of ridership on different bus routes shows that for many years, Route 22, which connects Papara to Taravao, has been very underused; conversely, Route 30, which connects Taravao to Papeete via the West Coast, faces a problem of under-supply.
Therefore, it has been decided to suspend Line 22 from next Monday and reallocate the buses operating this route to Line 30.
Users of Line 22 are advised to refer to Line 30, which also serves the municipalities of Papara, Mataiea, Papeari and Afaahiti-Taravao.
The new timetable for Line 30 Terminal is as follows:
- From Tarrawo to Papeete: 4am – 8:30am – 9:30am – 10am – 10:30am – 11am – 11:30am – 12pm – 12:30pm – 1:30pm – 2pm – 2:30pm – 3:30pm
