Today, representatives of the Serbian Army visited two families in a remote village in the municipality of Kursumlija and presented them with parcels containing basic supplies.
As part of civil-military cooperation activities, members of the Serbian Armed Forces provide assistance to citizens living in Serbia, the aim of which is to create conditions for a better life for the population and strengthen cooperation and trust at the local level in the inaccessible mountainous areas of our country, the Ministry of Defense announced.
Similar activities took place during a joint tactical exercise on the Pest Plateau in April this year, when members of the Serbian Armed Forces delivered aid to a large family in the village of Ursule near Sjenica.
Serbian Armed Forces troops often work with local self-government and the Serbian Red Cross to implement civil-military cooperation projects aimed at helping residents of remote mountain villages, where poor road infrastructure makes it difficult to obtain basic food and access to the health care system, the statement added.
