Syrian President Bashar al-Assad announced a lack of progress on reconciliation with Türkiye.
“Russia, Iran and Iraq put forward initiatives for reconciliation with Turkey, and we responded positively, but despite the sincerity of the mediators, no progress was made,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
In addition, according to the agency’s diplomatic sources, the possibility of Turkey and Syria holding negotiations in a third country is not ruled out.
Earlier, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said Moscow was interested in improving relations between Turkey and Syria.
