The play “Rake”, based on the play by the young writer Sofija Dimitrijević and directed by Dajana Josipović, premiered last night at the BDP “Millennium Team” Arena Summer Stage as part of the “New Voices” project.
This extraordinary drama focuses on a generation growing up in an environment firmly rooted in irrefutable conservative rules of thought and behavior.
As the audience sees in the BDP summer scene, a person who offers any form of resistance as a sign of fighting for some small but alive personal ideal is doomed to be humiliated in such an environment.
The author team consisted of playwright Arsenije Štimac, set designer Itana Šestović, while Smiljka Babić was responsible for the costumes.
The music for the show was composed by composer Luka Lukic.
Actors Jovan Simenovich, Andrija Markovich, Petar Lazarevich, Arseniyeh Arsic, Pavle Ivanovich, Anya Jovanović, Mila Protich, Alexander Urošević, Una Rakic and Mila Lalovich bring this complex and exciting drama to life for the audience.
