The young man who died in a road traffic accident in Inishowen last night was named as Kian Dawson, 16 years old.
Earlier that evening, Kian and his friends arrived from Delhi.
The two men were passengers in the car, which appeared to lose control, hit a wall and ended up in a field.
Kian died at the scene and the car driver was seriously injured and rushed to Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital for emergency treatment.
The R240 was closed for much of the day.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Any road user who has camera footage, including dashcam footage, and was travelling in the area at the time is asked to provide it to gardaí who are investigating.
