Hespress sources report that the Marrakech Security Zone has begun, from this weekend, an intensive security operation within the scope of an integrated action plan aimed at countering dangerous traffic situations that threaten road users and prohibiting traffic violations that pose a threat to the safety of citizens and the safety of their property, as well as combating all criminality and behaviour that affects the feeling of security on the main streets.
The same source explained that these security operations were carried out during the night of August 24 and the early morning of August 25, and a total of 93 people were arrested. Among them were people involved in crimes against public order and public morality, as well as people who were investigated for various felonies and misdemeanors.
These specific safety actions resulted in 23 vehicles being seized and stored in municipal impound because the owners of these vehicles were involved in spectacle and dangerous driving practices that threatened the safety of road users and male and female citizens.
Hespress sources added that, always linked to road safety, the traffic police unit of the Marrakech Security State was able to arrest four drivers on the same night for engaging in transport without a license in situations that threaten the safety of people and property, recorded 176 violations of cyclists not wearing helmets and imposed traffic fines on 365 people who violated the provisions of the Traffic and Transport Law.
It is worth noting that the above-mentioned security operations involve all national security departments in Marrakech, including the judicial police, municipal authorities, traffic police, regular units, as well as various security zones and police departments. These operations will continue to be carried out in a systematic manner to reduce the various negative effects of illegal behavior on public streets.
