Goodlyfe singer Weasel Manizo is in hot water after he was caught on camera assaulting promoter Nobat during a heated argument. The incident prompted the Uganda National Promoters Union to swiftly take legal action against the musician.
Juma Barunyiwa, a representative of the Federation of Tournament Organizers, expressed outrage in a statement on Friday, asking: “Even if it’s for money, if someone owes you money, would you beat him up?” He highlighted Wessel’s unprofessional behavior.
Where did Weasel get the nerve to beat up the promoter and not even stop to think about the fact that he had been eating grass for years and couldn’t even give a concert.
In response to this incident, the Federation held a meeting and decided to take legal action against Weasel.
As a coalition, we held a meeting and instructed our lawyers to begin taking Weasel to court. He can charge us with unpaid debts, but we will charge him with assault. The court will make the decision.
The federation stressed that they did not want this incident to set a precedent in which musicians felt they could abuse promoters with impunity.
