Earlier this month, a 67-year-old man was attacked and killed by a herd of cattle while walking in the Vrouwenbos nature reserve near Spaubeek in Limburg.

An eyewitness told local broadcasters that the incident, which has only now been made public, happened on August 10 on a grassy area that had recently been opened to the public. First-class news“The cows may not be used to humans yet,” she said.

According to the woman, the man was holding a dog. “But the dog charged at the cattle and the cattle turned on him. The cattle just trampled him,” she said.

Other walkers and police officers at the scene were also attacked by the cows. It is not clear whether the cows had calves or any other reason for their aggressive behaviour. Beek Local Council has banned walkers from the area.
