Since August 23, personnel of the Central African Armed Forces (Faca) deployed in Bakouma, in the Mbomou province, have been on strike. The soldiers are demanding that their superiors pay the Global Food Award (PGA), which is 17 months in arrears. According to local sources, the latter have banned all commercial activities in the city and even the freedom of movement. There has been no official reaction from the military high command.
