How to control F on iPhone

Are you reading a long webpage or PDF document? Similar to the Control + F function on your computer (or Command F on a Mac), you can use the Share button to search for words on your iPhone. Here’s how to use Control F on your iPhone or iPad.

1. Open the webpage in Safari or another mobile browser.
2. Click share Icon at the bottom.
3. Pull out the menu and click Find on page.
4. Enter a word or phrase in the field.
5. Tap complete Once completed.

1. Open the webpage in Safari. You can also use other mobile browsers, such as Google Chrome.
   
   • You can also search PDFbut must Open In Safari or Chrome.
2. Click “Share.” Depending on your browser, the Share button is at the top or bottom of the screen.
   
   • A pop-up menu will open.
3. Click . You may have to scroll up on the menu to see this option.
   
   • This could also look like Find in Page or similar, depending on your browser.
4. Enter the word or phrase. Please make sure it is spelled correctly.
   
   • If necessary, you can click the magnifying glass icon and select Whole word and/or Match case Narrow your search.
   • Results will load as you type.
5. View the results. Click the down arrow to go to the next result, and the up arrow to go to the previous result.
   
   • When you are finished, click complete Return to web page.

1. Open Messaging App. This looks like a white text bubble with a green background.⁽¹⁾
   
   • By default, your conversation list will open. If you’re in a conversation, tap the back arrow to return to this page.
2. Swipe down. This will open the search bar.
   
3. Tap the search bar and enter a word or phrase. Results will load as you type.
   
4. View your results. You will see them arranged from newest to oldest.
   
   • If necessary, click View All View all results containing that word or phrase.
