This is the number of operational vehicles provided to the Municipality of Mahina as of December 31, 2023, according to the Territorial Accounting Office.
Of this fleet, the Technical Services Department has the largest number (26 vehicles), followed by the Close and Social Life Department (DPVS, 11 vehicles), while the Fire and Rescue Department has only nine vehicles.
In this regard, the Territorial Court of Auditors noted that “Without a correctly filled-in logbook, it is impossible to reconcile the mileage with the delivered fuel and to ensure that the vehicle is used only for professional tasks. Nevertheless, the risks are reduced because the municipality has chosen to implement a fuel card for each vehicle, facilitating personalized and secure consumption monitoring (the card is dedicated to fuel, with a cap per vehicle and per month). With the ongoing deployment of the geolocation system for municipal vehicles (at the time of the control, 20 vehicles were equipped with this device), it should soon be fully under control, ultimately allowing to collate the maximum possible information on the vehicles’ use (mileage, routes, implementation of eco-driving, consumption, etc.). The GPS system will be operational for all vehicles at the beginning of June.”
