On the morning of Friday, August 23, Kojima Productions advertise This will be part of a special Death Stranding 2 event at the Tokyo Game Show next Sunday, September 29th.

The “Death Stranding 2: The Beach” event will invite director Hideo Kojima, special guests Daichi Miura, Kenjiro Tsuda, Nana Mizuki, Tomokazu Sugita, Shion Wakayama and Nicolas Winding Refn to attend.

Death Stranding 2 is set to be released in December 2022, with a trailer released Game AwardsThe trailer confirms that Norman Reedus will be returning, as well as Léa Seydoux, who played the vulnerable character in the first game.

After the trailer premiered, Hideo Kojima said on stage that he wasn’t ready to reveal any more details about the game, but joked, “I put a lot of things in the trailer, so I hope you can discuss it and find details in it.”

Currently, Kojima Propductions has set the game’s release window as 2025, but the exact month it will arrive on PlayStation 5 is still unknown.

Death Stranding live-action version is coming soon

Hideo Kojima is working with production company A24 to bring the live-action Death Stranding film to life.

A24 is the film distributor and production company behind films such as Everything Everywhere All At Once, Talk to Me, Uncut Gems, Midsommar, Lady Bird, and Moonlight.

“The film promises to delve into the mystery of the apocalyptic event called Death Stranding, which blurs the line between life and death and brings nightmarish creatures to a world on the brink of collapse,” Kojima Productions said.

The director assured that he was aiming for a “more artistic approach” rather than seeking to make a successful film consisting of famous actors and gorgeous explosions.
