Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine on Thursday (22nd) of attempting to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant in the Russian region of the same name, an accusation that Kiev has denied.
The Russian president said in a video conference with members of his government and governors of Ukrainian border regions that “the enemy tried to attack the nuclear power plant at night,” but did not give details.
In response, Kiev rejected Putin’s accusations, commenting that “Russia’s desired scenario of an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on the Kursk nuclear power plant to accuse it of nuclear terrorism does not hold true.”
The newspaper cited kyiv independentAndriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council’s department for combating disinformation, returned the accusation to Moscow, saying that “everything shows that Russia is capable of carrying out this provocation alone” and blaming Ukraine in front of international public opinion.
