Due to the deteriorating situation on the Ukrainian border, more than 130,000 residents of the Kursk region were forced to leave their homes.
according to Vesti.azThe information was announced by Acting Governor of Kursk Oblast Alexey Smirnov at a meeting devoted to the situation in the border region.
Smirnov said that 133,000 people have left the Kursk border region, which currently has about 20,000 residents. The reason for the mass exodus is the attack of the Ukrainian armed forces, who shelled the Kursk region and occupied several settlements. The Ukrainian army’s offensive on the border with Russia continues, which has aggravated the humanitarian situation in the region.
In addition, Denis Manturov, deputy chairman of the Russian Federation’s ruling party, said 115,000 people were evacuated from dangerous areas along the Ukrainian border.
He said that in view of the situation in the border areas, the Cabinet of Ministers has prepared a decision to allocate 1.9 billion rubles to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
