Mbabane – Success Films in association with Rival Visuals has released the trailer for the much-anticipated film, Litsambo Lami, written by Mayibongwe Magagula and Siyabonga Nkambule.
The film is a gripping drama that is guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The film delves into the complexities of love, loss and revenge, set against the backdrop of Swazi culture and tradition. One of the producers, Mayibongwe Magagula, stressed that this was a zero-budget film, which cost them between €40,000 and €50,000, including equipment, rental, props, transportation and post-production. “Litsambo Lami” tells the story of Senzo Simelane, a dedicated teacher who is overjoyed at the arrival of his and his girlfriend Gugu Dlamini’s daughter, Khetsiwe.

However, their happiness was shattered when Khetsiwe was kidnapped by Senzo’s vengeful ex-girlfriend Khulile. Another producer, Siyabonga Nkambule, praised the crew for their good work. “The film was shot in May and I believe it was well planned. The cast and crew lived together peacefully for a common goal,” he said.
Hloniphile Sihlongonyane, who plays the character of Gugu in the film, said she loved every scene she was in. “I play the character of Anti Skuta, who is very strict and a no-nonsense auntie. I really believe people will enjoy the film because it is very dramatic but it touches on real issues that people can relate to,” the actress added.
Mayibongwe Magagula echoed his co-star’s words and he is confident that their film will be a huge success. “I believe everyone who watches it will relate to it and fall in love with it because it is not Western.”
