Besides, 10 students were sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee for the same reasons, the institution revealed in its report titled ‘Together we move towards a safe community’, wherein the actions taken to address complaints on these reasons were transparent.
According to Tec, all 231 cases received by the Gender and Safe Community Office for analysis between January and December 2019 have been processed.

In all cases, raised by agency members through various contact mechanisms and email escuchándote@itasm.mx204 corresponded to violations of human dignity, of which 56 resulted in gender-based violence.
A total of 27 cases of sexual violence were reported and sanctions were imposed on cooperating teachers and students.
The report released on Monday said that of all the documents, 82% were complaints from women and 95% were from men.
The agency said that actions to mitigate acts that affect human dignity are taken through the Centre for the Recognition of Human Dignity, an autonomous entity within the agency that has the power to deal with situations involving people and provide solutions. Four institutions are involved: Tec de Monterrey, Tecmilenio, TecSalud and SorteosTec.
The Gender and Safe Communities Office was incorporated into the Centre and is responsible for implementing action programmes for the prevention and care of gender-based violence, aimed at reducing action within the organisation.
The report also presents the nine commitments of the HeForShe initiative that Tec signed with UN Women in January 2019, which must be fulfilled within two years.
They highlighted the integration of interdisciplinary and national teams to develop gender equality programs within institutions; the opening of 10 points at the Monterrey Institute of Technology to resolve complaints related to the recognition of human dignity, a program that also contemplates the opening of up to 31 points at the Tecmilenio University.
As part of these actions, seven open dialogue forums were also held at national level, where the entire Tec community had a voice, presented their experiences and made recommendations for changes to the protocol.
Likewise, an awareness programme on gender-based violence was started; in the labour sector, the target is to have 30% women in management positions; and the Women in Engineering and Science initiative was launched to promote gender equality in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.
