In recent days, the Prime Minister has been the victim of a campaign of hate and defamation on social networks. Félix Moloua has been particularly targeted online by certain elements who have criticized his leadership and called for his resignation. He has received support from his party, the United Heart Movement, and many other entities.
For days, on the social network Facebook and in WhatsApp groups, well-known figures or those close to power hiding behind fake accounts have been spreading hate messages against the head of the Central African government through articles and life. If some accuse Felix Moloua of incompetence, sectarianism and even nepotism, others simply demand his resignation.
According to multiple sources contacted by Radio Ndeke Luka, this was a quarrel within the MCU party. A group of people, apparently unhappy with the actions of the head of government, demanded that his head be chopped off. However, the latter’s supporters opposed this approach. On August 20, a group of women, led by the current Minister of Humanitarian Action, organized a march in Bangui to condemn the attack on the Prime Minister.
“There is a hand behind the scenes”
“As I spoke, I put on my Central African woman hat and wanted to say no. We fully support the prime minister. That is why these women stood up to support the head of government. We are in a period of reconstruction. If we want to build this country, we can no longer encourage young people to insult the authorities. There are dark hands behind these slanders.” said Lina Josiane Bemakassoui, Minister of Humanitarian Action.
Faced with this situation, the ruling United Heart Movement broke its silence and issued a press release.
‘A ridiculous campaign’
“This campaign is all the more absurd because it takes place at a time when the efforts made by the executive branch are yielding more than ever practical and strategic results in the consolidation of peace and the restoration of social services and stability, which are essential to the pursuit and achievement of the objectives of the Central African Republic’s rise”stating that the Marvel Universe intends to prosecute the perpetrators of these actions.
In recent years, the United Heart movement has been weakened by internal fighting among some activists. Today, almost every party cadre wants a place in the sun.
Félix Moloua, former Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, was appointed Prime Minister on 7 February 2022, succeeding Henri-Marie Dondra. He reshuffled his team on 4 January 2024, following the adoption of the Constitution on 30 August 2023.
