Just an hour and a half from San Jose, the leisure center is the perfect place for a day of family adventure, with attractions such as a swimming pool, mini golf, a farm, trampolines, and more, all surrounded by nature.
This is Transpordiversión, a destination much sought after by young and old, with its multiple options for having a good time and its natural charm, which makes this a perfect family project.
We go to Atenas, Alajuela, 800 meters east of Coopeatenas, to experience this adventure and discover this paradise that has so many attractions that make tourists fall in love with it.
Luis Fernando Rodríguez and his wife Marisol Castro were responsible for the implementation of this idea. Their deep love for their children and their desire to offer them a unique space, not only for themselves but also for other children, inspired them to create Transpordiversión.
“When my children were born we decided to buy inflatables for them and that’s where the idea came from and we started renting them about eight or 10 years ago and it’s continued. When we saw the positive results we bought more inflatables and then the idea for this place came up (in 2019), which is an abandoned farm and we’ve been developing it,” said Louise.
“Our children are very close in age, the difference between them is about a year and a half, and there was no place for them to enjoy everything, so the idea was to do something that the family could enjoy and give everyone their own space, and that motivated us, and we tried to find something economical,” Marisol added.

Castro studied early stimulation and preschool education, but was unable to continue her career because her children required care. Now that her children are grown (Hilary is 14, Jorge is 12, and Willy is 10), she is able to be more involved in the business and use her knowledge to ensure that the place is welcoming and enriching for every child who visits.
So the couple went from renting inflatables and providing family services to bringing this emotion to a place at a reasonable price through a children’s entertainment center. The farm belonged to Luis Fernando’s great-uncle and had a swimming pool, but over time they transformed the land and added other attractions.
I had the opportunity to see how spectacular this place is and explore its facilities, as I mentioned at the beginning, there are swimming pools, covered children’s play areas, green areas, activity rooms, trampolines, football fields, hammocks, slides, a small paddock, mini golf and even a charming little farm, enough to spend a whole day.
One of my favorite parts was meeting the farm animals, which included goats, chickens, turtles, a very friendly horse, a cow, etc. Interestingly, they even had a name, for example, the cow was called Lucero, and visitors loved feeding them.
I was also able to enjoy the shade of trees full of mangoes, one of the favorite foods of the arriving animals and those on the farm. In addition, I found a perfect corner in nature where I could not only relax on a bench, but also enjoy a unique view.
Transpordiversión has a soda shop that is open on Saturdays and Sundays, but visitors are also allowed to bring their own food.
If you want to walk around, remember to wear comfortable clothes and shoes, sunscreen, hydration, a hat and a desire to have fun. Yuplón is an excellent choice for an adventure where you can get a day pass for 5,000 colones per person, which includes access to facilities and lunch.
