Meteorologist Jean Surrier said that the maximum temperature is expected to be between 37°C and 43°C in the next 10 weeks, with the heat feeling higher.
He reported that in the past four days, the Indomet thermometer recorded temperatures as high as 41°C in Mau province, Valverde province, with heat sensations reaching 46°C.
In light of the situation, Indomet urged people to drink enough water, wear light clothing and avoid direct sunlight between 11:00 a.m. and 16:00 p.m. local time.
Likewise, he called for more attention to be paid to children and the elderly, who are more vulnerable.
