Chicago – Strong protests in support of Palestine took place around the Democratic National Convention site in Chicago. Hundreds of protesters also arrived at the Israeli Consulate in Chicago, where police clashed with protesters.

After the large group of protesters dispersed and broke up into smaller groups, clashes with police began, leading to dozens of arrests. Police officials called the rally illegal.

Earlier in the evening, police officers were seen armed with sticks and moving towards protesters in an attempt to stop them from marching.

Police blocked most of the roads leading to important places including the gathering spot.

The Israeli consulate in Chicago has been the center of protests since the Gaza war began.
