We get that feeling twice a week at Planet Money. A story is finished…all the loose ends are tied up…all the kinks are worked out…all the details are ironed out. And then…it’s like a curiosity hangover. We wonder if we’ll ever find anything interesting again.

Luckily, we have a simple solution: Planet Money Mailbox. We love hearing from curious listeners, and occasionally we send our reporters around the world to find answers to your important questions.

Today, we have four stories inspired by our listener mail. We answer questions like, “Why are goldfish so cheap?” and “Did you know there’s a shadow barter economy emerging around Ben & Jerry’s?” Our reporting has taken us from the Vermont cemetery to… well, Delaware. We admit that Vermont to Delaware isn’t that far, but let’s take a break and catch up – it’s mail time!

This episode was produced by Willa Rubin, with assistance from Emma Peaslee and James Sneed. Editing was done by Sally Helm and Keith Romer.
