We see a certain trend of CAB reduction
The airfields on the territory of the Russian Federation, which were attacked by the Defense Forces of Ukraine the day before, were used mainly by the invaders for tactical aviation, aviation expert Anatoly Khrapchinsky said during the national television marathon program KAB.
“Regarding the attacks on airfields on the territory of the Russian Federation, it should be noted that we see a reduction in the number of KABs, which is not as much as we would like, since the enemy continues to use them, but their number is still significant. We must continue to work on these airfields to reduce the possibility of using aircraft to attack the Ukrainian territory, after all, the enemy also uses short-range missiles Kh-59, Kh-69. “The Wehrmacht is working on aircraft such as the Su-57 at distant airfields in the Russian Federation. “, explained Khrapchinsky.
He also explained how many aircraft Russia can produce now: “As for strategic aviation, they can produce some tactical aviation – in Russia, even look at the large number of surplus aircraft. The same satellite image of Oranya, where there is a complete Tu-22 M3 base – about 24 aircraft.
Hrapchinsky said the Wehrmacht’s main task now is to strike at factories that produce some of the most worn-out parts on aircraft.
“These are certain parts in the engines, hydraulic pipes, and it should be noted here that all these parts fall within the scope of our drones, which could have a significant impact on these small parts, eliminating the possibility of replacing them. Then we will see a decrease in the use of tactical aviation,” Hrapchinsky noted.
Russian strategic aviation aircraft activities recorded
Aviation expert Konstantin Krivorap-Lester, in an interview with RBC Ukraine, noted that recently Russian strategic aviation activity has been recorded more frequently than usual. The invaders may be preparing for a large-scale attack on Ukraine, but now they are training pilots of Tu-95 and Tu-160 aircraft.
“It’s difficult to say whether there are such complete signs, but the fact is that something like this is happening there and they are preparing for something, and from the point of view of an attack, the first thing to watch out for is this. With the help of Tu-95 Kh-101 missiles, they tried to throw 20 Tu-95s into these missions, but they didn’t do very well,” the expert explained.
Konstantin Krivolap noted that Russia still has 13-14 aircraft that can perform these functions. These aircraft “constantly roam” between the Olenya airport (Murmansk region, Russian Federation – ed.) and the “Engels airport” (Saratov region, Russian Federation – ed.).
“On the part of Engels, they made some kind of provision, because according to the number of these flights, they should have been fully equipped with X-101 missiles and ready to perform their functions, and instead they flew, trained, made false launches, some false targets were fired at. “Another Tu-160 appeared,” he continued.
Experts point out that this shows that the Russian Federation does not have enough launch vehicles for the X-101 missile and crew, and the Russians understand this.
