Deadlock ends: Subsidies to rail carriers to come under scrutiny

During the inspection, the department representative found 14 different violations on one train. In particular, the interior and exterior of the carriages were not up to standard, the fans were faulty, and the hygiene requirements were not complied with at all. In this case, the transport company has 10 days to eliminate the gaps. A fine was also imposed.

There are currently 110 passenger trains in the country. Enterprises that do not meet the requirements will find it difficult to obtain subsidies from the national budget.

Nurzhan Kelbuganov, deputy chairman of the Railway and Water Transport Committee:

— The subsidy issue will be reconsidered. How did the passenger transport companies operate last year, what warnings were given, how many of them were cancelled, how many cars were purchased — Everything is taken into account. As long as they provide quality service to passengers, they will receive corresponding subsidies.
