Alex Borg, spokesman for the National Party in Gozo, said there were “indications that the National Party has won the European Parliament elections in Gozo”.
He described it as a “great achievement for Gozo and Malta”.
Earlier today, Labour was declared the winner of the European Parliament elections, but with a smaller majority than in previous years, with some reports suggesting the margin between the two parties could shrink to less than 10,000 votes.
Official results will be announced later this evening.
