Santo Domingo del Norte – Following the increase in complaints about crime and noise in the city, the National Police, with the support of the military of the Quiet Cities Task Force (CIUTRAN), launched simultaneous operations in several areas.

The army and police reportedly used vans, motorcycles and trucks in the Los Guaricanos, Villamera and Sabana Perdida areas.

They seized guns, knives, loudspeakers, slot machines and motorcycles. In addition, several young people were detained for investigation.

National police have been carrying out raids in different areas of Greater Santo Domingo and other towns in the country, where residents have reported an increase in robberies, assaults and noise pollution.
