A man with addresses in Jamaica and the United States has been charged with stabbing a three-year-old boy to death last month.
He is Devin Williams, 33, a worker in the Page and West Springfield districts of St. Mary Parish in Massachusetts, USA.
Williams was also charged with three counts of wounding with intent to commit suicide and two counts of unlawful wounding, police said Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Asha Campbell, also from the Borders area of St Mary.
The incident happened on May 29 on Pagee Street.
According to a Port Maria police report, between 3:30 and 5 p.m., Williams, armed with a knife and a pipe, caused multiple injuries to Asha and five other people.
They were taken to hospital where Asha was pronounced dead while the others were treated and released.
Williams, who had previously been stopped by residents and taken to hospital, has been handed over to police.
He was charged Thursday after he was pointed out during an identification event.
Williams is scheduled to appear in St. Mary Parish Court on June 13.
