Free eye surgery medical camp held in Moka for cases from different districts

Sheikh Sultan Mahmoud, Director General of Al-Mokha in Taiz Governorate, inaugurated a free medical camp for eye surgeries at the Al-Shifa Mother and Child Medical Center, which is funded by the Kuwait Direct Aid Association and implemented by the Eye Medicine Foundation.
The camp lasted for four days during which 400 cataract extractions, lens implantation surgeries and free checkups and examinations for eye patients were conducted with the aim of alleviating the suffering of the citizens, especially the elderly.
Stressing the importance of medical camps in alleviating the suffering of citizens, Director General Mokha also stressed that local authorities are keen to support the efforts of the health sector to improve the level of health services, praising the efforts of the State of Kuwait to implement projects aimed at addressing social concerns and reducing their suffering.
Meanwhile, Dr. Saleh Hassan, a visiting medical mission official at the Laayoune camp, confirmed that the target population at the camp includes people from Taiz and the western coastal areas of Hodeidah governorates in addition to those from various governorates.
He said the camp would provide screening and examination services for two consecutive days, followed by free cataract removal surgery and lens implantation surgery, before dispensing treatment and glasses, conducting follow-up visits, and providing health advice for an additional 15 days.
