“Weqaya”: The “Monkeypox” Mpox virus, the first virus to lead to the declaration of a global health emergency, has not yet been found in Saudi Arabia.

The Public Health Agency “Weqaya” explained that according to the World Health Organization, no cases of “Monkeypox-1” have been detected in the Kingdom so far, given the increasing spread of the “Monkeypox” virus worldwide. She stressed that the Saudi health system is strong and effective and has the capacity to respond to various health risks due to the outbreak of the first type of virus. The Kingdom has taken all precautionary measures and procedures to conduct strong monitoring and limit the spread of the virus in a way that ensures the personal health and safety of citizens and residents.

Wekaya said there are many preventive measures, awareness programs, epidemiological investigation procedures and infectious disease response measures with an epidemiological dimension to ensure that the possibility of the spread of infectious diseases is addressed.

The Public Health Agency stressed the importance of obtaining information from official sources and not being led by rumors and unreliable sources, stressed the need to carefully follow healthy behaviors, and warned against traveling to countries where there is an outbreak or spread of the “Monkeypox” virus “Mpox” has been monitored.
