Palither Suriname Foundation awarded practical diplomas to 15 graduates of the PLT (Psychological and Physical Trauma Therapy) course. They may call themselves Past Life Therapists. The training lasted one and a half years.

since 1998 This is the seventh time that a diploma has been awarded for the PLT course, which was created in collaboration with RTNederland, a post-secondary vocational education institution, at the intervention of PLT founder Dr. R. van der Meissen. The course material was provided by Cecilia Manichand-Potinoor (practical teacher) and Harry Mungra (theoretical teacher). They were assisted by several PLT certified tutors.

What distinguishes PLT from existing treatments for chronic mental and physical illness is that it views the person/client as four-dimensional. Not only having mental, emotional, and physical dimensions, but also a spiritual dimension centered around the human soul. Accepting this opens up unique opportunities to guide clients in dealing with mental and physical illness.
PLT is an indispensable and complementary modality of trauma care in Suriname.

Of the six effect and process studies, some have been brought together in a paper by Van der Maesen (2006) and in a PLTSuriname manual specifically developed for Suriname ( Van der Maesen and Manichand-Potinoor, 2019 ).
