This Saturday, the 17th, President João Lourenço called for an end to the conflict in Sudan and the war against Ukraine in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The Angolan politician spoke at the 44th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community.
Regarding Sudan, João Lourenço advocated the inclusion of all forces involved in the conflict in order to find an effective peace in the region.
The Angolan president also condemned what he called the genocide being inflicted on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Joao Lourenco defended the recognition of a Palestinian state as one of the ways to end the decades-long conflict between the two countries.
On the day that Angola handed over the SADC presidency for the next twelve months to Zimbabwe, the outgoing president hoped that the industrialisation process in the region would continue.
João Lourenço’s speech also highlighted the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
