exist tornado A tornado is possible in Ayr, Ontario, on Saturday morning, with a warning in place for much of the area, according to the Town of North Dumfries.
The city noted on its website that a tornado could touch down near Greenfield and Northhumberland roads before 10:50 a.m.
At 10:42 a.m., Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for the area, saying they were “tracking a severe thunderstorm with the potential for a tornado. The severe thunderstorm is located near Prattsville, moving 35 kilometres northeast.”
Global News has reached out to the Northern Tornado Project and Environment Canada to try to confirm if a tornado touched down in the area.

The town said there was extensive damage to Cowan Park, a sports park, and damage to properties along Greenfield Road West and Northumberland Street.
“Emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the affected area upon receiving the first reports of property damage,” the town noted. “Teams remain on scene and are currently being supplemented by resources from GrandBridge Energy.”
The town noted that CPKC is also inspecting its train cars because Waterloo Regional Police reported that some train cars may have derailed.
“WRPS also received reports of a train derailment in the area with multiple cars overturned,” police said. “There were no reports of any hazardous materials. The incident was handled by railroad employees and no emergency service assistance was required.”
Global News has contacted CKPC for more information on the potential derailment.
Police also reported damage to a home hardware store, where the roof was “partially ripped off.”
“The store was evacuated and all staff and customers exited safely.”
North Dumfries said the fire department was conducting a health check and no injuries had been reported.
They asked the public to avoid driving in the area because traffic congestion was hampering emergency crews from completing their mission.
