(Daily News) – All 20 polling centres (PDM) for the Nengiri State Assembly (DUN) by-election (PRK) Count Last night at 8:12.

Of these, Barisan Nasional (BN) through its candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani won 17 PDMs, while PAS won three PDMs.

The Barisan Nasional candidate, representing the unity government, won a majority of 3,372 votes.

Unofficially, Mohd Azmawi won the Pakatan Harapan seat with 9,112 votes, while PAS candidate Mohd Rizwadi received 5,741 votes.

Barisan Nasional, representing the unity government, won a majority of 3,372 votes, allowing the party to recapture the Nenggili state seat which it had held under Bersatu in last year’s state election (PRN).

A total of 20,259 registered voters in the Nenggili state assembly by-election witnessed a one-on-one clash between the Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional candidates.

The by-election was held after Kelantan state assembly speaker Datuk Mohd Amanik Abdullah declared the seat vacant on June 19, following the expulsion of incumbent assemblyman Mohd Aziz Abu Naim from Bersatu on June 13.

In the state election (PRN) last August, Barisan Nasional candidate Ab Aziz Yusoff lost to PAS candidate Mohd Azizi representing PN, who contested with a majority of 810 votes.
