It is noteworthy that representatives of the Council of Churches met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the parties discussed issues such as protection of religious freedom and spiritual independence of Ukraine, protection of the constitutional order and public security of Ukraine, human rights and fundamental freedoms in the context of abuses by the aggressor state.
– In accordance with the results of the meeting, we would like to point out the following points, which we have stated many times before: We firmly condemn the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church, which has become an accomplice of the bloody crimes of the Russian aggressors against humanity and sanctifies weapons of mass destruction, and openly proclaims the need to destroy Ukraine’s statehood, culture, and, similarly, recently – Ukrainians themselves,” the statement said.
The bill, which provides for a ban on the Ukrainian Moscow Church, may receive a vote of 230-240 people’s deputies. Ukrainian people’s deputy, member of the relevant committee Vladimir Vyatrovich spoke on this. According to him, next week the Verkhovna Rada may finally vote on a bill that will ban the activities of the Ukrainian Russian Orthodox Church and its affiliates and religious organizations with centers in Moscow and Russia.
