New Zealand avenged last week’s shock defeat in Wellington with a lightning first-half attack to beat Argentina 42-10 at Auckland’s Eden Park tonight in the Rugby Championship.
Despite heavy rain and howling winds in the spiritual home of New Zealand rugby, Damian McKenzie, captain Adi Savea, Caleb Clarke, Will Jordan and Beauden Barrett all scored to help the All Blacks lead 35-3 at the break.
Jordan added a second goal shortly after halftime to extend the lead, but the Pumas managed to fend off multiple attempts from their opponents until the 72nd minute, when Juan Cruz Mallia scored.
Halfback McKenzie fired a perfect shot in the match, converting the All Blacks’ six touchdowns into goals, and New Zealand extended their 30-year unbeaten streak at Eden Park to 50 games.
